The Staunton Grocery is proud to offer four, five and six course tasting menus for a truly memorable dining experience.

If you are new to the concept, a brief description is in order. When you choose one of our tastings, you place yourself in the capable hands of Chef Ian Boden, who will custom design a meal for you ala minute combining a selection of items from the menu with wholly unique dishes prepared just for the occasion. Our tastings present cuisine as an artform, and your journey through a progressive selection of dishes will be a truly unique dining experience.

To enhance the meal you may allow Wine Director Kyle Boatright to pair individual glasses of wine with each course for a heightened sensual experience. Kyle will match your dishes with a princely pour of international wines specifically selected to fully bring out the flavor in each course, including a festive dessert wine. For many of our customers, the only decision they need to make is where to dine; after that, they can relax and enjoy a voyage of culinary discovery and each others’ company.

True to the philosophy of Staunton Grocery, our tasting menus feature the finest seasonal ingredients available. If you are seeking a dining adventure exploring one-of-a-kind combinations of dishes, we highly recommend our tasting menus to provide that signature evening.

Though available at any time, if you know in advance that you would like to try one of our tastings, we recommend that you infrom us when you make your reservation, so that we will have extra time to plan your meals.

The world is currently experiencing one of the most exciting times in the history of wine. The course of the past few decades has witnessed a joining of two schools of thought in the global wine industry: those who believe that wine is made in the vineyard and those who believe that wine is made at the winery. These philosophies, once at odds, have made collective progress by learning from each others techniques and traditions. The results have been fantastic. There has never been as much superior wine from which to choose and so many talented winemakers pushing the envelope to satisfy an ever increasing, and discerning market.

The wine program at the Staunton Grocery is committed to sourcing the highest quality wines from around the world that enhance, and are enhanced by, the cuisine of Chef Ian Boden. The menu philosophy, focusing on simple presentations that allow the exceptional quality of the ingredients to shine forth, is mirrored by wine selections that reflect the soils and years in which they were grown. Wines selected for the list are chosen for their value and represent classic regions such as France and California as well as those like Virginia and Austria that are just beginning to show their potential.

Wine Director Kyle Boatright encourages diners to try something different and is always available for a consultation. His main goal is to ensure each guest’s satisfaction and enjoyment of the dining experience. Like the menu, the wine list is constantly evolving and will continue to grow with time.
